BIOGRAPHY
I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and have been involved in music ministry from a young age, serving on and leading worship teams in several congregations. I studied Church Music and music composition for a time at Philadelphia Biblical University before leaving to study nursing in Roanoke.
Through the practice of nursing, I developed a heart for healing, especially the fullness of healing that comes from a life yielded to the Lord; that chooses to worship God in every circumstance. A posture of worship and thanksgiving is essential for every battle we face (Philippians 4:4-13).
Both my wife and I grew up in Christian homes and later (ages 10 and 14 respectively) found out about our Jewish heritage. Our families had just learned about Messianic Judaism from Rabbi Sam Nadler, and we began to observe the biblical feast days listed in Leviticus 23 and throughout scripture, understanding that they all point to our savior Messiah Yeshua and God the Father’s redemptive plan for us.
Our ministry is to the Jew first but also to the Gentile. We have been called to live a testimony of the “one new man” in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus) (Ephesians 2:14-16). A testimony that both Jew and Gentile are reconciled to God by the same Messiah, and they serve as a two-fold witness to the redemptive power of God: that God has proved Himself faithful to all His promises. The Jewish people still live today because of His covenant-faithfulness, and the nations have been grafted into His family through faith in Jesus, the promised seed of Abraham (Romans 11:1, 2, 11-15). Practically, this looks like sharing Yeshua with our unsaved Jewish neighbors and sharing the joy of Shabbat with our gentile friends.
I continue to work part time at our local hospital as a First Assistant in the OR. I also teach music lessons and serve as an elder and cantor at Hope of Israel Messianic Congregation.
My wife Taharah Katherine and I live in the beautiful valley of Roanoke with our daughters Norah, and Emunah. (John 5:39, Luke 24:44)
